I’m currently working as an off-set art director on the Netflix production Cowboy BeBop. Before that I was lecturing in film & design dept’s at AUT and Unitec.
I have 25 years experience in film and television production. I began by building props and sets, then re-trained and went on to designing them, working as an Art Director on television commercials for over 14 years.
In 2014 I branched out from television and designed sets for event companies in Auckland.
In 2012 I completed a Masters in Design. The subject of my research was the perception of light - exploring light as a design material.
After graduating in 2000 from AFTRS (Australian film school) I returned to New Zealand to work as an art director on TV commercials and was the on-set art director on NZ feature film Crooked Earth.
From 1991-1998 I worked as a props-maker and set builder on various New Zealand feature films and television productions such as: What Becomes of the Broken Hearted, Heaven and Memory and Desire.
During the 1980’s I was a musician in various bands on the Flying Nun label.
